BIO
Yi-Chen WANG is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore. She also holds a Visiting Associate Professor position in the Department of Molecular Parasitology and Tropical Diseases, Taipei Medical University. She obtained her PhD in Geography from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. Her research interests include spatial health, neglected tropical diseases, landscape ecology, and land use/cover change. Her recent work on the neglected tropical disease - liver fluke infection - investigates land use, human behavior, and social dynamics as risk factors of foodborne parasitic infeciton in the Lower Mekong River Basin. Her research also extends into health and environment in the urban setting, to apply geospatial technologies in examining the relationship between the neighborhood characteristics of the environments and infectious disease risk and distribution.
