BIO
I am a political theorist, writing mostly on eighteenth and nineteenth-century political thought. Prior to joining the Department of Political Science at NUS, I was a post-doctoral fellow and subsequently an assistant professor of political science at Yale-NUS College. I hold a PhD in Political Science from Harvard University, an MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History from Cambridge University, and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. In between that I worked for several years in the Singapore Public Service, mostly on fiscal and social policy issues.
