Poorya Kabir is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School.

His research interests span a range of topics in empirical corporate finance, particularly concerning how corporate finance affects the real economy (e.g., product markets and investment). To explore these issues, he employs empirical methods developed in economics, combined with micro-data.

Poorya completed his Ph.D. in Finance at Columbia Business School in 2020. Prior to that, he graduated from Sharif University of Technology with an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 2014 and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics in 2012.
