BIO

Dr. Franziska Hittmair is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Strategy and Policy at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. She is also a non-resident Research Affiliate at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University.

 

Her research focuses on strategic management, with a particular emphasis on corporate environmental sustainability. She examines how corporate strategic decisions influence, and are influenced by, environmental outcomes, including toxic waste pollution and carbon emissions. Her work also explores voluntary carbon markets, corporate net-zero strategies, and more broadly how the private sector can contribute to global climate governance and the transition to a low-carbon economy.

 

Prior to joining NUS, Dr. Hittmair was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Climate and Sustainability Impact Lab within the Harvard Business School AI Institute. She received her PhD in Management, with Distinction and Honors, from Nova School of Business and Economics, and prior to her academic career, she worked as a Brand Manager in the FMCG industry across Europe.
