Daniel Keum is Dean's Chair Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Strategy & Policy at NUS Business School, prior to which he was the David W. Zalaznick Associate Professor of Business at Columbia Business School. His research examines how the legal and psychological barriers surrounding layoffs shape the way firms innovate, compete, and respond to technological change. His recent work investigates whether managers with strong prosocial preferences are, in fact, good for business, and how automation is reshaping the relationship between firms and employees. His research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Academy of Management Journal, and Organization Science, and has received multiple awards. He serves as Associate Editor of Strategic Management Journal and Program Chair of the Corporate Strategy Division of the Strategic Management Society.
