Dr Koh Jianyi Calvin is a specialist physician in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and underwent further medical training at the National University Hospital (NUH), where he served as chief resident in the department of medicine and completed his membership of the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom (MRCP). He then joined the division of gastroenterology and hepatology, completing his Advanced Specialist Training (AST) in gastroenterology. Dr Koh subsequently obtained his specialist accreditation from the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) of Singapore and is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore.
Following completion of specialist training, he was awarded an Academic Medicine Development Award and undertook an advanced endoscopy fellowship under the auspices of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) with the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Florida, USA to further his interest in interventional endoscopy.
Prior to leaving public service, he served as senior consultant at NUH, where he also served as director of endoscopy, as well as an assistant professor at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine with clinical and research interests in endoscopy, pancreatobiliary disease, gastric and colon cancer. He is passionate about endoscopy training and education, and was a member of the gastroenterology core faculty, as well as a member of the national residency advisory committee.
He is a committee member of the Chapter of Gastroenterology under the College of Physicians in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) (London), as well as the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE).
